Massage Training for Parents of Infants, Crawlers and Cruisers
Picture

 This class teaches
  • baby massage technique
  • safety & precautions
  • the best oils to use on your baby's skin
  • reading your baby's cues and more
  • the stroke adaptations to relieve common infant concerns such as gas/colic, digestion/constipation, congestion and teething.
  • how to safely use developmental movement exercises that can be used as standalone movements to promote interaction, flexibility and a child's physical and mental ability. This helps with body awareness and balance.
The Infant Massage Class is a series of 4 lessons (once a week for 4 weeks). Each lesson/class is 1 hour long. This series may be completed in private sessions in the office or as home visits and may also be available in a group series. Call to find out available appointment & class times.
You will learn the strokes & techniques for safe healthy touch on your baby. This is for the typically healthy full term baby both "pre-crawlers" and "pre-walkers"
When registering you will select one of the following 2 options for this parent/baby class series

Pre Crawlers Class
For Infants 6 weeks old through “not yet crawling”

Cruisers Class
For Crawlers through Toddlers (beginning walkers)

We will discuss more about the instant benefits along with the ongoing lifelong benefits and how you might adapt massage patterns as your child grows. Learn more about the benefits of this class  and other classes offered Here.
The instructor will demonstrate on a doll as you massage your baby. You may bring one other adult to the class with you. This should be someone who also loves your child and is interested in their well being. If they would like they may practice right along with us, using a doll which we provide.  Learn more about the Center for Touch & the Instructor Here.
Bring a blanket for your baby to lay on and your own personal baby items such as diapers & wipes as these are not provided.

All classes at the Center For Pediatric Touch, require a consent form signed by you and an “ok” from your baby’s pediatrician/health care provider with the Release form signed by them. You can find these forms to print out at the Registration page where there are instructions on the registration process. No one is admitted into this class without these forms. It is recommended that you wait until you have these forms signed before you pay and register .

*If your baby was born premature but is stable and thriving well and not under a providers care for any immediate specific diagnosis, than it is possible that you may attend this class, rather than the Gentle Touch class, after consulting with the instructor.
